Is Facebook taking a bite out of Instagram?
Or are videos just the norm now…
Have you seen the recent announcement from Facebook, testing out a version of “stories” on its own home feed starting in Ireland. This is the same type of stories seen on Instagram & of course Snapchat.
On the face of it, it may seem logical for Facebook & it fits with the projected move for the Facebook feed to be almost completely videos but how will users react?
Was the Instagram stories feature just a way for Facebook to test out the idea before moving it over to the actual Facebook app?…
There is no doubting the fact that vertical video stories like this are the future, but one of the biggest issues with both Snapchat, Instagram and now soon to be Facebook stories is the sheer volume of stories created a day which have very little context before they completely disappear. (For some users yes this is the point)
A lot of creators are taking time to make quality stories but many are lost against the noise, that’s why we created Snappd to let quality creators have a place to store their stories forever no matter which platform they were created on. During upload the creators can easily add a short description and tags so viewers can find the content that interests them and it goes without saying — it can be shared.
Do you make quality stories — We would love to see them on Snappd (iOS) download here
