Here’s my problem with the whole system: Do you really want to expend the time on a good candidate, only to find that they’ve taken another job? Wouldn’t it be better to have a short-term exclusive on a candidate? As in “if you give them an offer, they will accept the position”? That also means, of course, that you have to notify them, to release the exclusive.
