Everything you say in this comment is, of course, true. But assumptions without scrutiny are rarely a path to truth and enlightenment. Sometimes when one has a hammer, everything seems like a nail.

Hammering a perceived nail without compassion is confrontational and off-putting — you end up doing a disservice to your cause. It’s kind of like the old saying, “You catch more flies with honey than with vinegar.”
