Editing With a Machete

When a scalpel just won’t do.

Editing. Ugh. I’ll say it again…EDITING. Double-ugh. I can truly say that editing is NOT on my list of super-cool and fun things to do before publishing an article.

To me, writing is the fun part, especially when you get into a sweet rhythm, the words flowing, your groove is grooving…you’re feeling it, oh yeah, you’re feeling it.

You get done writing in Evernote.
You run the article through Grammarly.
You copy/paste it into Medium.
You choose a bomb-diggity Feature Image from Pixabay and create your image in Pablo.
You add a few more photos from Unsplash.

And then it begins…

You article lays there. No pulse. No breathing. Not a smidgeon of signs of life. Only one thing to do to bring your creation to life:

Time to Operate!

Using your scalpel, you make a few, articulate and delicate changes. Your changes do nothing to bring your article to life. It continues lying there, a heap of inanimate blocks of text.
