How to Recover From Any Loss
Todd Brison

Happy to see DO NOTHING as first in the list and in all caps. We’re deeply conditioned to set a course and take action, but when trauma hits, the task is to allow various compounding effects on our psyche to unfurl. That’s a process that happens when we create space for it, not when we crowd it out with more and more strategies and tactics — “solutions”. In my case, I took time off from work to allow this to happen. People wanted to know what I did all day. I did stuff. I did nothing. I let things bubble up. I stared at my toes, took baths, pet my dog, and binge watched Netflix. I also moved to another country. Probably the most productive year of my life.
