And you are a writer! I too was a single parent from the time my younger child was 4. I was on welfare back for a few years when they let you go back to get a 4 year degree and struggled through my kid’s grade school years with all the snobs and systems who think that being a single parent means you and your kids are inferior. My kids struggled too. I too bake and cook. And my kids learned early to do the same. They are awesome adults, hard as it was to get there. The saying “it takes a village to raise a child” is true, but too often there seems to be no village.
