I have returned for round two of my short weekend blogging!

We woke up to sunshine again this morning which is always a delight. Sunshine just makes everything way more fun. Plus I didn’t bring a coat so….

Anyway, I looked out the window expecting to see some rabbits and squirrels, this is the absolute party place to be for rabbits and squirrels, but alas there was none so instead of wallowing in self pity I decided to get up and ready and set up for the day ahead.

As its only a short stay here we decided to do as much different stuff we could jammed in to two days to make sure we made the most of it. So we went to the swimming pool…. Which we did yesterday.

The swimming pool is just so fun though! It’s all warm and nice with a big glass ceiling so you feel like you’re outside, but you’re not. It’s magical!

We spent some time in the pool and made a fun game pretending to be crabs before heading to the water slides. I mentioned that the water slide was dark yesterday but it was actually a lie, there was lights like stars in there but I thought I’d sound harder if I said it was proper dark. I’ve had to reveal my lie though to tell you that today, it was actually dark. No lights at all. I managed to keep my eyes open today though so that was good, dancing your fears and all that. Despite this, we took two journeys on this which Robin didn’t enjoy. He’s no good at the water slides and insists that he keeps flipping up the sides and getting thrown around. I said it was because he was heavy but I’m no water slide scientist and I was just trying to make a podgy joke.

Whilst in the queue for the slide we decided that a further round to the pancake house was appropriate despite saying we were going to come ‘home’ (see previous post) for a slimming world friendly bacon and egg roll.

After two rounds on the Rapids, which again stole my dignity we headed for pancakes. Robin once again had bacon and maple syrup (again snooze) and I had a Mexican omelette. I figured this was at least more slimming world friendly than pancakes….Right? It had actual vegetables in which I haven’t seen for two days.

After a walk with Glenn and a short snooze (anyone who knows me knows how much I love a nap) we decided to go canoeing. Turns out, I am absolutely not very good at canoeing. The physics of it all are way too much for me. I figured you just paddled but alas that is not the case. We even made a nice song which went ‘one two three, one two three’ to try and teach me when to row but I was rubbish so I just had a nice lie down in the sun whilst Robin rowed. Danke Robin :-)

We had a small altercation with a swan whilst we were there. Swans are meant to be all nice and lovely to look at and beautiful but actually they are pretty terrifying. I mean, I know I could take it on and knock it out (I’m well hard), obviously, but I didn’t want to show it up in front of its swan mates so we (Robin) rowed away.

After this we got gelato. I figured that after all the lying down I had done I my canoe that I deserved gelato. It was amazing, I regret nothing. Robin had sorbet because he’s fancy like that.

We also played a round of mini golf which I WOOOOOON! Robin lost. I won. Did I mention I won?! Me!!! I won!!! It was Robin Hood themed and the course was just a classic mini golf course which I never expected to win, but I did, I won. I don’t like to gloat, but did I mention I won?

I also caught a lot of Pokemon on the way to mini golf. I don’t really understand how to play the game but I like to catch the Pokemon. Gotta catch em all! I don’t even know why I like it, I could never watch the cartoon when I was young because it made me feel car sick.

Dinner tonight was at the American grill ‘Hucks’. I couldn’t decide what to have so I took a few laps of the restaurant spying at people’s tables to see what they had. Every menu should come with a photo book of every single thing. Even though there is a description in the menu, it’s not the same is it? You need to see it to know if you want it. I saw a lot of good looking burgers, hot dogs, macaroni cheese and fajitas which was all looked amazing and I wanted to eat them all! I got southern fried chicken which I hadn’t actually seen so my walks round were in the end basically pointless.

My prize for winning golf was getting to choose the starter, it was nachos, because obviously, it’s me.

I’m unsure that this was slimming world friendly but I took the skin of my chicken to make it just a bit better, every little helps right?!

We passed on pudding because I’m about to pop. I am so. Full. Someone send help :-(

We’ve just got back from dinner and were sat outside and a bird has just pooed on Robins head so on that note, I’ll call it a night. Danke very much for reading if you made it this far :*)
