I have talked to strangers who have listened to my stories which I haven’t shared with anyone else, and I am eternally grateful for it. I somehow thought I could try this with my family. But I failed every single time. Now I realised why: Because I used to have an agenda to it, even if it was just to make better connections with them. When you truly listen, you have to just use your ears and eyes, and leave the mind out of it.
