The Times, They Are A-Changin’.
March Into The Future With Ruvos
We’ve been up to something at headquarters over the past few months. That something — refreshing our brand to match our new, revitalized solutions. Have no fear, a rose by any other name would smell as sweet. So who are we? Check out our new site here.
Let’s Go Back In Time a Little…
This company was founded in 2004 in Tallahassee as a data integration and information exchange product and service provider. 14 years later we have grown to become a team of global data integration engineers, a leading cloud services provider, global data integration engineers, and experts in information security and data intelligence. Some may know that over the last few years unfortunately Uber Operations has been forced to defend itself from infringement of its brand by Uber Technologies. Through this time, we have always been devoted to continuing to utilize our creativity and hard work as a premier provider of Healthcare IT Services, and that’s exactly what we’re going to keep doing as Ruvos.
We learned a few lessons throughout this process that we think are worth sharing, things that apply unilaterally whether or not your business ever has to endure something like this (and boy do we not wish it on anyone)
- Your team is everything — You hired good people, masters of their craft, to do what they do best. Trust them and give them space to create their best work, and you will be amazed with the results.
- Be as transparent as possible — Completely changing a company’s brand can be confusing and frustrating for everyone involved. Don’t withhold any more information from your team than necessary, and the same goes for your base of supporters, clients, and partners. Not only is it important for clients and partners to feel involved in the change rather than blindsided, you never know who will be able to help you along the way.
- It’s (almost) never too late to pivot — The Ruvos brand transition team put over 3 months of work into a name…that isn’t Ruvos. We made templates, purchased domains, designed materials, bought swag — but it didn’t feel right. When something doesn’t feel right, go with your gut and pivot.
- Just pick a date. There will always be something — It is natural and understandable to want to push back big scary events. Your thoughts will swirl with doubt and concern, wondering if now is the best time to do this. What you have to realize is that there is no perfect time to do anything, but preparing the best you can will make any date you choose (and stick to!) better than any future date that could be better if we just wait and see.
The transition wasn’t simple or straightforward, but we are thankful for our supportive partner organizations, like Tallahassee Chamber of Commerce, Target Print & Mail, Florida Technology Council, Rowland Publishing, Domi Station, TalTech Alliance, and many others who, through all the confusion of moving launch dates, transmission of top secret brand materials, and general hullabaloo, always championed our mission to remind the world of who we are and what we do.
