Fact remains, there is no consensus on the long-term effect of violent video games. They may have some short-term effect, but so far, there’s no evidence to support the idea that violent video games lead to actual violent behavior.

The truth is that while video games sales keep climbing, and while video games are becoming more violent, youth violence has been on a steady decline for decades.
