This article, I believe, is so necessary for a lot of people to read. And weather you call this racism or prejudice (it seems like no one really has the same opinion in which is which anymore). I feel a lot of people unfortunately miss the point you are trying to get across and just scrutinise the irrelevant parts so they can have a say in. Regarding the actual message you are stating, I could not agree more. I may have not had so many bad things happen to me as you, I was not that privileged, but yes I might have been more than others have. I know first hand what racism does to a country. Having grown up in South Africa, I have seen how it tears people apart. It leads to hate and that leads to more hate. We don’t treat others as human. But it is easier for some to join the majority in creating the problem, than the few who are trying to fight and be the solution. I have face racism because I am white. In South Africa now I might be the last to be chosen for a job because they have quotas to meet for having poc in the roles. Regardless if they are qualified. Now I realise that the History of South Africa is a bit dark with apartheid. But why must I now suffer from the mistakes of my ancestors who I do not even agree with? If we cannot win racism, it will destroy us.
