Eligibility for the UAE golden visa

1) Eligibility for a 10-year golden visa in the UAE

The individuals allowed to apply for a 10-year residence visa in the UAE are.

a) Investors:

Investors who can invest in public investments of at least AED 10 million. These investments can be in the form of:

1. A deposit in an investment fund inside the country of at least AED 10 million & should not be a loaned amount.
2. Establishing a company in the UAE with funds of more than AED 10 million
3. Individual partnering with an existing or a new company with a share value of more than AED10 million
4. The Applicant should own a total investment of more than AED 10 million in all areas mentioned. On the condition that the acquisition or the investment in sectors other than real estate should not be less than 60 percent of the total investment.
5. The investors should maintain the investment for at least three years.
6. Visa can include new business partners on the condition that each partner contributes AED 10 million.
7. Investors may apply for a multiple-entry permit for six months.

b) People with specialized talents

People working in the science and knowledge research field and unique creative talents in culture and art can apply for this visa. The applicants must have a valid employment contract in their specialized occupation. The permit includes the spouse and children.

• Scientists’ applicants must be holders of the Mohammed Bin Rashid Medal for Scientific Excellence or authorized by the Emirates Scientists Council.
• Inventors must obtain an approved license by the Ministry of Economy.
• Applicants of culture and art have to be authorized by the Ministry of Culture and Youth.
• Unique talents should own a verified permit or scientific research published in a world-class journal.
• Administrators must be holders of high academic achievement and positions or owners of a leading and internationally recognized company.
• Doctors and specialists should fulfill a minimum of two of the following conditions:
• an award or certificates of appreciation in the field of their work
• contribution to scientific research in the respective field of work
• published articles in the respective field of work
• a Ph. D. degree with a 10-year professional experience

2) Eligibility for a 5-year golden visa in UAE

The following categories can apply for a 5-year golden visa in the UAE.

1. Investors

• The investor must invest in a property with a total value of more than AED 5 million.
• The amount invested should not be on a loan basis.
• The investor should own the property for at least three years.

2. Entrepreneurs

• Applicants should have an existing project with a minimum capital of AED 500,000
• The visa holder is permitted a multi-entry visa for six months & renewable for another six months. This visa includes three executives, a spouse & children.

3. Distinctive Students

• Students with a minimum grade of 95 percent in public and private secondary schools
• College students within and outside the UAE, having a GPA of at least 3.75 upon graduation.
• The visa includes families of outstanding students.
