“A leader is born along with the birth of a new idea” I love this statement Nalin!
Leaders are born out of ‘context’. Extreme conditions push a person to find creative solutions or lead out of problems or onto a new path.
Current modes of Leadership development talks a lot about how to deal with people and almost never about how to find that new path. That’s because it’s difficult to codify ‘creativity’ as it requires a ‘context’ , ‘contradictory circumstances’.
My idea of Leadership Development is to simply test individuals on the way they operate in contradictory circumstances.
I like the old quote ‘A leader is the one who climbs the tallest tree, surveys the entire situation, and yells, “Wrong jungle!” . 😀
