There are just too many holes in this story. I realize that there’s more information to be told, but still, this really sounds much more like this lawsuit is attorney driven, more-so than by the alleged victim.
There’s never a clear answer as to why she got an attorney. She got a call from Derrick’s friend/s while with her friend who suggested she talk to a family member who was an attorney?
She doesn’t remember what happened, but she’s convinced she was raped? And never went to the hospital, even if she suspected she had sex without her consent? Or was she convinced by the attorney that she was raped?
Naturally the attorney will suggest a civil suit over criminal because there’s much more opportunity for money. Settling out of court is the goal after all. What would the attorney have suggested if this were just an ordinary guy, and not a very rich athlete? I’m guessing, go to the police, because there’s no opportunity to make money.
As to being anonymous, there is no anonymity in today’s world of cell phone cameras and the internet. Everyone knows this, so that’s a poor excuse.
Why was she sexting with him, and sending pictures, the night of the incident? Of course the expectation would be sex.
She sounds like a nice girl, which was the purpose of doing the interview, but this looks really bad. Like the lawyers smell money, and are using her as a vehicle to get it. $21M? Really? So they settle for $8–$10M, a non-disclosure, and the attorneys get at least half, PLUS expenses?
Sounds about right.
