Life can be very stressful, especially as a college student, so taking time to release that stress by lifting some weight can do wonders for your mental health and benefit you in many ways.

Studies have shown for a while that exercising is a good idea because of the physical and mental benefits. Most of the time, as college students, we deal with many assignments, projects, and papers we have to do. This can lead to a decent amount of stress, especially if you start feeling overwhelmed.

Taking 30 minutes to an hour a day to exercise and release all your stress onto the weights in the gym can work wonders on you and is also a great reason to keep going to the gym. And as said before, motivation helps a lot with building discipline and consistency.

While you can benefit from going to the gym mentally, it shouldn’t replace any therapy for more severe cases of stress. Also, be on the lookout for turning something that can be a healthy habit into an addiction. While this is unlikely, it is still possible and is something you should keep in mind to prevent taking your exercise too far and hurting yourself.

Going to the gym can do a lot for you if done correctly, so make the most of it and don’t take it too far. You will never regret working out unless you end up hurting yourself, so be smart and use the gym to better yourself mentally and physically.
