The multiverse exists inside of us.

The multiverse is real — really, truly real.

We share this objective, physical reality, but in each of us is a unique ‘matrix’ that understands oneself, one another, the world, and the universe. We go about our days in enough accordance with others that we tend not to realize that our individual ‘realities’ melt into a pattern that is cohesive enough to be mistaken for the ‘true’ reality.

In control of our minds, we act as gods, influencing how the stories in our unique ‘universes’ unfold. We stitch together our mental representations to meet in a middle ground — the physical reality which we share — and yet we spend our lives creating tales that we tell ourselves, hearing the thoughts of these projections, feeling their emotions, watching their flights and downfalls, experiencing the exaltations of their successes and the sorrows of their grievances. And we do this all while fumbling together across the absurd yet beautiful landscape which we call home.

Do we not understand?

The worlds of Marvel and the dimensions of Evelyn Wang (‘Everything Everywhere All At Once’) are poetic depictions of the ‘What if?’.

I, too, ask, ‘What if?’.

Yet within the mystery of consciousness emerges a multiverse of its own.

Within us all are universes, countless dimensions of our creation, evolving alongside our own life stories, adapting to the information acquired through our senses, our revelations, our reflections, the moments of connection when the energy inside one resonates so powerfully with that inside another that, together, a new universe is birthed, one in which unique creations coalesce into a mutual understanding, a shared experience, an undeniable proof of togetherness.

Having replicated itself, the memory splits into two — one copy for each participant — and we go about our day, incorporating the knowledge, emotion, and curiosity, from this shared experience. And we do this again — and again — and again — and again, ad infinitum.

The universes inside ourselves thirst for experience, ever expanding, ever changing. We hear the yearnings and the passions, the pains and the warnings, of our creations, nestled deep within the womb of consciousness, and we grant transcendence to their wishes, bringing to fruition their impacts on our joint reality.

Do we not see what we are doing, how we create, both inside and out? It is all connected — we are all connected.

The universes are many yet they are but one. We create their stories, and their stories create us. They dance, so we thrive.

We are writing the pages of history, imbuing the tales of time with insight and queries, mischief and pride, altering forever our understandings of the past, our reaches to the future, all the while transforming the present into something bold, something delicate, something transient.

We are courageous, and we are strange.

This story is not only ours to tell: It is ours to create.

This is our onus.

This is our opportunity.

This is us.
