How I keep my family strong

Here’s how I stay connected with my sisters, even though we live thousands of miles apart.

I grew up with three amazing sisters. Well … it wasn’t always amazing. One of my sister stabbed with a pencil once and I regularly tried to pull her hair out. There was a lot of fighting when we were young.

But now we have an amazing friendship. Here’s my quick tip that’s helped us stay really close even though we live in three different states.

We also get together for one weekend per year and hang out, without our families. It’s a blast!

We have a conference call every two weeks. Yup, that’s it. We dial in to a Zoom Call (not being paid to say that) and we each take a turn giving updates on our lives. There’s laughter, crying, cheering — the whole gamut of human emotion.

It takes about an hour every two weeks and it’s unbelievable valuable. It was a little weird at first but now we’re in the groove. Also, there are plenty of times that some folks can’t make it, but we just keep chugging along.

Life is so damn short and this is a simple yet powerful way for me to make sure I stay connected with some of the most important people in my life.
