Strengthening our foundation

Since we launched Treehouse six years ago, I’m extremely proud of the incredible work we’ve done enrolling more than 600,000 students, offering more than 500 courses and, most importantly, giving people the skills to do things they never thought they could. We recently launched Techdegree — which provides students with an intensive, guided learning process to get the essential, high-quality tech skills needed to change their lives. The feedback so far from students and employers has been amazing. We already have Students getting jobs and changing their lives.

I’ve now decided it is time to strengthen the foundation of Treehouse. This means it’s time to stop spending more than we make each month.

This shift in strategy means we’ve had to make some really tough choices. We want to be as transparent about this as possible with our team and I’ve informed them that we would be reducing the size of the team. I care about every single one of our people so this has been a very very tough decision.

Doing this makes our school stronger and more stable, financially, which means we can serve our Students for the long-term.

To our students and business partners: you shouldn’t expect anything to change. You will still get the best quality content and instruction you’ve come to expect from Treehouse.

The future of Treehouse is very bright.

The ground we stand on is solid and I’m very excited about our future.
