WANTED: Smart, Intelligent, Organized, Executive Assistant Who Desires To Learn The Inner Workings Of Growing Publishing Company!
Before you go any further. My name is Ryan Fletcher. It is important that you understand who I am and what I believe. The typical “wanted ad” is boring and vague. This will be the opposite of that. For starters, to see if working with me even interests you, you’ll need to listen to at least one podcast and watch at least one video. Why? Because my quest is not as simple as just finding an employee or a contract worker, I’m looking for someone who wants something much more out of life. To make impact. To be a part of something much bigger. Because if you don’t share my same vision, to make a difference, then you’d be a poor fit. And frankly, that would be a waste of both my time and yours.
I’ll talk more about what this position entails in a moment, but first, you’ll need to do some “homework.” If you object to that, then “good,” I have successfully screened the wrong-type of person from applying. I am someone who loves to learn and read, and to inspire, and bluntly, someone who isn’t a student in some capacity, admittedly, would find my ambition annoying and probably offensive.
As the saying goes, “Hire slow, fire fast.” Truth told, I don’t want to fire at all, or ever, I’m looking for someone who will become an integral part of my organization, as we continue to expand. So, I want to get itright the first time, even if that means “turning off” 99% of the people that read this ad. Frankly, I just don’t care. I’m writing to the 1%er’s… Not in wealth, but in ambition, work ethic, etc. These are the people that will thrive, with me, and in my company, and in their position.
So, back to the homework.
Here is the list of the recent Podcasts I’ve produced.
Browse the titles. Find one that interests you. And listen in close. Podcasts are an integral part of my business, so it’s important that you understand how they integrate with the bigger mission that I seek to accomplish through my company.

Here are a number of videos too. (It would be best to watch all four, but at least watch one — it’s important.)
This first one promotes a platform that I own called Entrepreneurs Networking Group — there are 20+ Chapters throughout the United States and Canada.

This video promotes my book: Defeat Mega Agents: http://www.agentmarketingsyndicate.com/1dmafreebook/
This one talks about the spirit of the Entrepreneur. And truly, the secret of Ronald Reagan “The Great Communicator”:

This one talks about “Why I do this.” I encourage you to watch it. It is located on the application page of my high-end program. Just ignore the application, the video is what’s important:

I also publish a monthly Magazine. It’s called Broken Industry. Below you can download several of the past issues:

Okay, if you’re still with me and I haven’t lost you. And if you’ve gotten a sense about what it is that I do, who I am… and if you’re intrigued, curious, eager to learn more. Let’s move to step 2.
The Job Description:
In the beginning you will need to be a “Jack of all trades.” The ability to organize your day, and to work effective and efficient, is critical. If someone has an “assembly line mentality,” and is not capable to thinking on their feet, or is afraid or intimated to take on new tasks, then that person should not apply. Hey, I’m just being honest. I don’t have much patience for someone who can’t “anticipate,” can’t learn or isn’t willing to grow outside of their current comfort zone.
Inside my company, here are some of the things we do: Book publishing. Magazine publishing. Video production. Podcast production. Managing and choreographing people and tasks relevant to website setup and graphics. Customer service. (The right person for this position, yes, they will be coordinating directly with my clients, so great communication skills are an absolute must.) You will also be exposed to the art of copywriting, storytelling, entrepreneurial ideas, writing and newsletter publishing, concepts for building businesses, marketing, not to mention the elements to create a movement into the tens of thousands. Among, of course, many other things too…
Don’t worry — you will be trained on all the essential tasks. You don’t have to be a master at any of these, to start.
Now, quickly, here are some of the tools and services that we use in my company: Wordpress. Leadpages.net. Infusionsoft.com. An array of service providers on Fiverr.com, as well as iWriter.com—for transcription and graphics. For simple edits of audio and video, Screenflow. YouTube.com for video hosting. Google Hangouts and WebEx.com for videoconferencing. Facebook for advertising. Stamps.com for mailing. Kajabi.com for our membership site. Microsoft Word. Etc.
The more of these that you are familiar with is a plus, but not required. No computer programming skills are required either.
If you’re not a “tech person” that is fine. Most of what we do in these platforms is fairly simple and straight-forward. You just need to learn the process, so that you can effectively manage and coordinate the different projects that place.
More Details About The Position:
College Degree?
I don’t give a shit about a college degree. Your work ethic will speak for itself. Your willingness to learn, will speak for itself. Your passion for being the best you can be, will speak for itself. A piece of paper—a college degree—does not “qualify” or “disqualify” you. Only YOU qualify or disqualify you, based on your Character traits.
Experience?
I’ve come across a lot of stupid people that have 10 years experience. So no, just like a college education, “experience” does not qualify you or disqualify you. But here’s what I’m looking for. Someone who can take on a task, set a deadline, stay organized, and complete that task on-time with 100% accuracy, efficiency and effectiveness. If you tell me it will be done by Tuesday at 5pm. Then it needs to be done by Tuesday by 5pm. If something unexpected comes up, an emergency, I get it. It happens. I have two kids, Jackson who is 5. And Zoey who is two. But that kind of “delay” should be the exception, not the rule. Because of my work load, I am under the constant pressure of deadlines, so any delay derails the entire train. I need to be able to count on you. And I want you to be able to count on me, if you say you need something, we are team. I will get it for you.
Regular working hours?
Yes. And no. In the beginning, as you are trained and brought up to speed, you will be expected to work regular scheduled hours. However, as you advance in your ability and understanding of the position, there will be the opportunity to work from home and to set your own hours. Again, I am deadline orientated. I don’t care as much about “how” you get it done, or from “where” you get it done. I just need to know it’s going to be done. And, it’s going to be right.
For various projects, we will use a project management platform like https://basecamp.com/tour, to assure we are always organized, and on the same page.
Questions To Ask Yourself?
1 — Have I listened to at least 1 podcast and watched, at minimum, at least one of Ryan’s videos?
2 — Does Ryan seem like a person I would want to work with?
3—Can I be trusted? Can I be counted on?
4—Do I have a curiosity to learn/master new things?
5 — Do I take direction well?
6—Am I willing to accept the responsibility as the CEO of my own position?
7—Do I work fast, effectively and efficient?
8—Can I meet deadlines?
9—Can I manage and coordinate multiple projects?
10—As a person, am I super-organized? In other words, is my house clean? Is my car clean? Is my bathroom clean? Do I use a calendar or some other kind of deliberate organizer to schedule my day, all of my activities, meetings and deadlines?
11—As a Communicator, how high would I rate myself?
12—How high would other people rate me?
13—As a Team Player, how high would others rate me?
14—What is my best/most valuable skill or quality?
15—Do I have any interest/skill in writing/storytelling?
16—Do I have any interest/skill in Facebook advertising?
17—Do I have any interest/skill in audio or video production?
18—Do I have any interest/skill in Podcast production?
19—Do I have any interest/skill in book publishing or being an editor?
20—Am I willing to write a personal message or shoot a video, to tell Ryan more about who I am and about what drives me, and why I think I’m right for this position?
21—Am I someone who is interested in opportunity for advancement/more responsibility?
Opportunities For Advancement:
Depending on your skill set, and/or your willingness to master certain skills, there is no limit for income potential or advancement. This position, at this time, is a support position to me, and includes a number of admin/customer support/project management roles. But in the future, as the business grows, I’d prefer to promote from within. And, more important, what you learn from working in this position, will give you invaluable skills moving forward in everything you do. You will be working closely with me, and if writing is of any interest to you, you will discover how to get paid handsomely for the development for that skill set. That is, putting words on paper. If you’ve watched any of those videos, listened to the podcasts, and read one or more issues of Broken Industry, then you know…that’s what I do. I’m just a storyteller. I put words on paper. And I teach others to do the same, so they may be more compelling in the manner in which they develop, craft, and present their message.
In short, the more valuable you become to my business and to me, and the more indispensable you make yourself, by mastering certain skill sets. The more excited I’ll be to promote you, give you more responsibility, and increase your pay and opportunity for compensation.
There is no ladder here. Only results. If you have a skill set in Facebook advertising for example, and you increase my sales by X% through some kind of ninja tactics, I’ll happily figure out a way to give you a percentage of that increase. Oh, one more thing. I would only ever hire a person who will treat my business as their own. Take great pride in their work. Bend over backwards to hit deadlines. Serve my clients as I do. And are eternal optimists. If you’re a killjoy. I couldn’t stand to be around you—so you’ll need to be motivated, driven and positive.
What To Do Next:
If what I have written [here] has resonated with you in a meaningful way, and you think you would enjoy working with me, then do this: Send me three things:
1) No more than a 1-page resume. Just let me know what your work experience is. Frankly, I don’t much care about it. Your past is your past. I’ve never been one to rest on laurels. But…it would be good to know so I can better understand your skills sets.
2) Write me a letter or shoot a video, it can be as long or as short as it needs to be, but make sure it captures the essence of who you are. I’m not just investing in an a “position,” I am investing, and putting on my trust in you. So please, be open and honest and share with me “who you are.” “What is your story?” Why have you chosen the paths that you have chosen? What drives you? What is your philosophical viewpoint? How do you see the world? Is there a defining moment in your life? Have you experienced tragedy? Adversity? How have you bounced back? When put into a difficult situation, how do you respond?…
These are the kinds of questions that can only be answered, by having a conversation with someone. So please, pick up a pen or shoot a video, and have a conversation with me. Tell me your story. Or about a meaningful experience in your life that conveys to me who you are, and why you’re interested in this position.
Finally — 3) From the homework section, from what you read or watched or listened to, what most resonated with you. Specifically, why did it resonate with you? And what do you feel your greatest strength is, that would be most valuable to me and to the position?
Please, don’t just shoot from the hip here. Give it some thought. This will likely dictate whether or not you are considered. And WARNING — I only hire A-players. Because A-players never quit, and they never make excuses. And I can’t stand people who quit or make excuses. And further, to the A-player, nothing is ever too hard or too challenging. Somehow, these people always rise to the occasion and find a way.
If that’s you, then I can’t wait to hear from you.
