A notion that I have really been playing with, no pun intended. Honestly! I often have flashbacks to virtual worlds I was immersed in during my youth through video games and I admire the focus I had, which I credit to that idea of play. It’s harder to do now — to envision yourself on that hero’s journey while accomplishing tasks — but it seems necessary. It’s kind of like a placebo perspective, pretending to be on an incredible journey, but at one point or another it might hit how amazing an adventure it is to be alive as a human in the first place. Play is so important. Thanks for taking the time to write this, Benjamin.
