tl;dr you can find our specific contribution here and read more about it below.
I quickly approached my friend Marcus, a talented ID designer, and we started brainstorming ideas. What we landed on was a celebration of typography. As we looked at the landscape of existing NFT work; astronauts, punks, and pfps; we realized the space was sorely lacking a focus on 1. more traditional graphic design compositions and 2. the form and beauty of typographic shapes and arrangements. We thought focusing our work on type might entice others to do the same.
The resulting work is a triptych of closely cropped letters of the same word, each composition a slightly different camera angle with alternate type relationships. We purposefully played with the depth of field to reduce letters to shapes and hopefully, through some typographic nesting and proximity, added feelings that personified the letters as well.
Each piece features one line of a poem that runs through series, which is an homage to the idea of depth and clarity, whether it be literal or metaphorical.
Additionally, the poem acts as a device in the hopes of pulling the viewer into the next piece vs. remaining on the first. We thought the words grounded each individual composition, giving it purpose and connection with the next.
The Master Artwork
Using Async’s interface, you can interact with the piece to change the layers of each tile, resulting in a whopping 293,242,067,884,135,544,935,936,513,642,647,623,193,965,101,056 different permutations of the masterwork. Each artist was asked to create 3 unique layers in addition to the default 3 layers that Async makes available per tile as well (two fill colors and one transparent layer).
For our specific tile, the winning bidder receives the token that contains all three layers (seen above). As a token of our gratitude, we will be providing the following as a token of our gratitude:
• Layers will be provided as 4000 x 4000-pixel unlockables
• There will be three separate unique mints of each individual layers, for displaying on verified token accessible digital frames, like Atomic Form.
• We will be working with the winning bidder to produce a physical screenprint of their favorite layer.

We are grateful for the opportunity to join such a talented group of artists. This is a genesis ETH piece for me and Marcus, and we’re very excited to share it with you all.
