Creating a brand identity | Cloudify

Creating a strong brand identity is one of the most powerful tools you can have in your business. I partnered with Cloudify to develop a unique brand that defined their business style & personality.

Cloudify is a company that helps small & medium sized companies “go cloud”, out-placing business processes to applications on the internet, heavily using Google Apps.

Research, research, research!

Research isn’t just looking on Wikipedia. I received a detailed design brief by Cloudify which specified what they were after. Cloudify wanted their corporate identity to be clear, easily decodable & quickly recognisable. Cloudify were heavily inspired by Google & their whole eco system. So this was the first thing I looked in to.

After researching & collating inspirational images, I got out the very traditional, pen & paper. After playing around for a couple of hours, I came up with a unique symbol that fitted the design brief.

Behind the logo

The logo from top to bottom is an example of detailed simplicity. The concept is simplistic enough for anyone to easily remember and recognise but details behind the logo is extraordinary. I gave close attention to every detail big or small so the logo would feel more complete.

I made a custom color palette that was used throughout the branding and also gave the client a style guide which went in to detail on how to use the logo to it’s fullest capacity.

The rest of the identity

After getting the approval on the logo, I started to create the rest of the identity. I created their business card, powerpoint presentation, envelope, illustrations and letterhead design.

“We love this!” — Jacob Schriver, Cloudify

I worked with Cloudify for over a month as their visual creative partner to develop their identity.

I hope you enjoyed learning about the process of the Cloudify brand. If you’re looking for a brand identity for yourself, feel free to send over your enquiry to ryan@ryanhayward.com.au .
