Is majoring in liberal arts a mistake for students?
Vinod Khosla

Depending on how it’s taught, liberal arts and humanities can be highly research focused and demanding in academic and scientific rigour, demanding evidence-based and highly logical approaches. Conversely, an engineering degree course can often end up to be nothing more than glorified vocational training.

Even more importantly, when it comes to university education, this old adage often rings true “You can bring a horse to the water, but you cannot make it drink”. How much of a real education one gets out of his/her university degree ultimately depends on the learner.
