They have to spend a considerable amount of time remembering that these teams exist and that they need to coordinate with each of these teams in order to build anything. Even worse, they may start to create their own solutions or make siloed decisions because they’re not getting the response times they need from the competency teams.
I’m bearish on micropayments for content producers. The psychological friction is the problem, not the micropayment. The hardest pricing increase for any business is going from free to $0.01. As soon as someone has to think “do I want to pay for this?” you create a huge amount of friction.
