Writing with readers in mind does not make you (or me or any writer) a sellout. It makes you a professional.
It’s OK to write what people want to read.

The concept of sell out is an arbitrary term. Sellout to who? It’s all a matter of opinion. If you go against the grain really hard… like for example. (random weird one). a popular atheist saying atheist should believe in God.. that would make them a sellout? Or a writer pandering to views and attention, that makes them a sell out? What the F%#* does sellout even mean? I’m probably stretching a analogy poorly, but I’m commenting on a whim because I haven’t been able to get my head wrapped around what it means to be a sellout.
