Real men do housework…

When I was a kid my mother had a set of 3 copper framed refrigerator magnets. One of which simply said “Real men do housework.”. My mother was a single mom trying to make things work for our family.

I being the oldest of me and my brother, became the man of the house at an early age. I would often sweep up, do dishes, take out the trash, and so on. All the while mom was working at her many places of employment to have a place to even keep clean.

As a person, but specifically as a man, I long ago recognized that we have to simply do what needs to be done. Real men (and women) act, do, complete, and achieve in regards to tasks great and small.

I am on my own now and washing clothes, vacuuming, and yes…even dusting come naturally , even easy to me. It is all thanks to mom and her magnet. On behalf of my future wife, thanks mom.

I think all will agree. Real men do housework…(and real women love that)
