Thanks for reading Bruce. Not mentioned in my essay, but also useful, are histories, biographies, and novels (Charlie is an outspoken advocate of biographies in particular). They often teach models in more easily understandable ways and give opportunities to use models to analyze material.

In my experience, familiarity with the big models enriches the experience of reading histories and novels. They add a lens of multidisciplinary rigor.
