I attended the Entrepreneurship & Innovation Marquette Alumni event this month and found some key points that I wanted to share. Some were similar to the 99U conference I attended, but reminded me to take the advice.

-Ignore the other guys and do it your way
-Accept all ideas, they may turn into something huge
-Create a score card for interviews and ask a lot of culture questions
-Remind people why they are at the company
-Look at your competition often
-A goal is needed to change culture
-Every interaction with the customer is a chance to build loyalty
The statement that resonated with me the most is remind people why they are at the company. Too often people get caught up in the day to day churn and we forget a simple way to motivate people is to tell them how valuable they are. As well as, why they are here.
