Where are you getting these bogus articles? The second one doesn’t even define matriarchy in the correct scientific sense.
Societies that would, in theory, be matriarchies… would not be so just because a woman was at the top of a hierarchy… that would have made England a Matriarchy when Margaret Thatcher was PM. It would have made the USA a matriarchy if Hillary won.
A matriarchy in an anthropological or sociological sense is a structure where women are increasingly present as one looks higher in the the hierarchical structure.
There are no matriarchies.
All matriarchies from the past (if there were any) have collapsed.
Literally the first (and most often cited) supposed “matriarchy” listed in your link mentions the Mosuo… which as you see in Lulu Lake Mosuo Cultural Development Association documentation describes, correctly, that at best, the Mosuo is matrilineal, but not exactly.
It is a sort of dream society for men who have arranged it so they can sleep around at will… and escape direct responsibility for the children. By default, women are left to “run” the households. But the dominant political power resides chiefly with men. Funny how “stuck with the kids” has been transformed by radical feminists into “matriarchy” lol.
The Mosuo culture is most frequently described as a matriarchal culture; in fact, the Mosuo themselves frequently use this description, to attract tourism and interest in their culture. Sometimes, the Mosuo will be described instead as “matrilineal”, which is probably more accurate, but still doesn’t reflect the full truth.
“The fact is, the Mosuo culture defies categorization within traditional definitions. It is true that they have aspects of a matriarchal culture, in that women are the head of the house, property is passed through the female line, and women tend to make the business decisions. But political power tends to be in the hands of males, which disqualifies them as a true matriarchy”
