The Red

My master is an asshole. Every time when the darkness goes away and this yellow circle starts to shine, I get this awful feeling of being hungry. Hungry I am. After a sequence of unfortunate events, when I managed to open this huge white box, which my master uses to store his food, and did not close it for the whole night, a lock has been put on it. Generally, people are smart, but only afterwards. They usually act after a disaster occurs. Without my master, however, I cannot open it to get something to eat. The figures on the clock show 05:37 — a perfect time to wake up. I start to sing my favorite song asking for some delicious treats in a polite and a gentle manner. In contrast to humans, I alway act as I’m happy and polite, and glad to see them all. I’m not. It’s just a way for me to get what I want. Not everyone is born with such an advantage as being tall, heavy, and, from time to time, intelligent. The best thing I can do to survive is to adapt. That’s what I’m doing with all I got, my outstanding manners.

I can hear it, yes, yes, yes, he has just woke up. My plan seems to work, as always thus. The question I ask myself, is why humans are so unhappy in the morning. Every day brings so much new opportunities to discover the world around you. Yesterday, for instance, I caught a fly and eat it. The day before yestarday I saw two flies spinning around the lamp. Such an emotional thing, I should say. And many many other beautiful things that happen to me every day. Why people cannot appreciate them? If they could have, they would be more willing to wake up every morning, but they don’t.

Don’t get me wrong, I’ve seen people excited about something. Usually, my master is very excited when some other human being comes to visit him in the room where he sleeps. Usually, this being smells much better then my master does. I assume that this is the reason why he is so excited. Here, I have a proposition to make, go get some cleaning and be happy on your own.

Chapter 2

After having a morning meals I there is a some time when I have to wait for the things to settle down. My master would be running left and right putting some additional layers of skin on him. Depending on the time of the year, if there is some white stuff falling down in the streets, the master will add more skins on him. I don’t know why is he doing this, because I feel all the time the same. This might be somehow related to leaving the place we both share, but I have no concerns with that. Why would I ever leave the place, which constantly provides me with food and a comfortable couch?

So, this time of waiting I hate since I can get hurt by the master running around like a small plastic rat which I tend to play with from time to time. May be humans are really into this rat race eventually? I don’t care, all I want is my food and sofa.
