Live Long, or Maybe Not
Looking back at my childhood heroes, it seems that a majority of them either died young a legend, or completely lost in the wilderness, still as a legend. And I just realized that maybe a figure like Steve Jobs has shortened the life span of a generation of entrepreneurs. The overarching zeal for a short but concise life, and the idea to live your life as if every morning you wake up a dying man all pushed for a highly high frequency and high volume of energy consuming. As if the irregular sleep and devastating snacking habit is not enough, Americans promote the sense of body pain that is suppose to build the body, only for the muscles to eventually become the burden of an elderly man, but the pain stays. If you look back in history, who is to say that American will even survive the next 200 years.
So seriously, live a life, a normal life as if you have 80 years. Because the biggest achievement you can ever have is to outlive everyone you know. And I believe Jobs would trade any billion dollar just for one more year with his family and the things he loved.
