Meaning of the Beginning
It just occured to me that we celebrate the beginning as much as we do so for the end. It has also been studied that a public beginning often times leads to a more monitored and motivated process. But the thing is I can’t really think of an end that has a clear beginning with a sophisticated roadmap. Great things too often began as an escape of the real life, a drunk night, a side project for self enjoyment. Nowadays even the VCs are bolstering about transforming your fellow programmers’ side projects into real startups, which sadly has support from many real life cases. It is almost as if we can’t take the risk and possibility of having a real goal with a real map to march forward, but we would much prefer to pick out the missing gem in a forgotten trash bin.
Lesson to draw? Stop commemorating whatever great journey you are about to take, and just do it already. Also be as unconscious as possible along the way.
