Tell Congress no cuts to Social Security, Medicare or other Social Safety nets

It is a well know fact that both Medicare and Social Security are among the only things that make retirement even remotely possible for the working class person. To seek cut either of these would be a betrayal of all working people especially the elderly. If America is to continue looking after its previous generations and provide the security in old age it promises continued or even increased funding for Social Security and Medicare is critical.

Therefore, any cuts to these programs is a non starter, even if it means a temporary shutdown. There can be no negotiating when the livelihoods of countless Americans especially elderly Americans are on the line. If America must decrease its deficit tax the rich or go after tax cheats. But please do not. cut Safety nets while we teeter on a recession in the midst of a pandemic. Find a way to raise the debt limit without cutting social safety nets. Do not give any ground to those holding our economy, the elderly and the infirm hostage.
