Planning The Future

There’s only so much you can kill in a day

I don’t use Captain’s Quarters often, in fact I almost never do. It’s a fantastic, beautiful piece of the EVE world that I almost never see. It’s unfortunate, really, because in my multi-monitor panoramic setup it is really a nice feature.

I used it tonight as I sat planning out how I’m going to accomplish some of the more ambitious goals I’ve had for some time.

That’s something I love about EVE. Planning is worthwhile. Gaining a knowledge of what you’re trying to do, how it will work and then planning it out carefully is the only way to give yourself a chance for success. Not all games, in fact very few games, reward a thoughtul approach to gameplay. And it’s too bad that they don’t.

Because while you’re sitting, quietly planning in your captain’s quarters… somewhere out there someone is sitting and quietly planning out a way to keep you from accomplishing your goal. And if in the process they can remove your clone from its pod, well… all the better.
