Festive Tranquility

“Life isn’t about waiting for the storm to pass.. It’s about learning to dance in the rain.” — Vivian Greene

With the advent of the New Year, I find myself looking back at yet another (unsurprisingly short) chapter of my life — 2017. A year filled with mistakes and unpleasantries, blessings disguised as curses and curses undisguised; valuable lessons stuffed in every corner. I welcome 2018 with more knowledge and wisdom, sagacity stemming from acknowledgement that nothing is in my control but my own self.

As daunting and painful as the year has been, I revel in the thought that my trying times have unearthed the true nature of my relationships and only kept those around who wished me best. Leaping (because my excitement did not allow for steps) out of my comfort zone will remain my greatest achievement of the year and I applaud those who lived through battles and hardships in hopes of rewards aplenty. And to all others, I urge you to follow suit and embark on difficult journeys, persevere through tough times, fight relentlessly for your passions. Most importantly, show love to your loved ones and take care of your own when the world lies an enemy ahead.

Our thrones await in 2018!
