A Better Future For Our Children
We all want to provide our children with a better future.
We want them to be happy, to love and be loved.
So what do we mean by a ‘better future’?
Is it providing them with the best possible education?
Is it making sure they get a good job? Is it making sure they earn “good money”? Or maybe we just don’t want them to repeat our own mistakes.
A fear called future
A few decades ago, a wish for a better future meant providing our children with a better starting point.
A better starting point was having enough food and a roof over their heads.
It meant getting an education, so they always have a job and enough money to live. Essentially, a better starting point is a step closer to survival.
Naturally, we all care for our children. After all, we brought them to this world so it is our duty to help them. As parents, we take care of everything when they’re babies. We treat them when they’re sick. We educate them. We are there for them — 24 hours, 7 days a week.
It is our responsibility to make sure they survive.
