My Dream Wedding ≠ The Best Day Of My Life

It is generally believed that only women fantasies of having a fancy big wedding, but that’s not true. Men dream of it, too.

When I was younger, I used to imagine what my wedding would be like —
Who will I invite? Will I have it outdoors or perhaps in an indoors venue? Sometimes I wouldn’t even consider who I’ll be marrying, but just think how great it will be.
I assumed it was a part of human nature. An important milestone in one’s life.

The best day of my life

I recently read the following article: I regret spending £50,000 on my wedding. Rebecca Hendin (the author) dreamed of her wedding for years.
All her relatives and friends had big weddings so she needed to keep up with the trend. Even more so, Rebecca wanted to out-do their weddings. To do something unique and impress her guests.
Unfortunately, she had to spend £50,000 (approximately $70,000) to do so.

Like uploading a photo to Instagram, a wedding is a way to wow people.
Rebecca was desperate to make her wedding a memorable one.
She stressed herself about every detail, large and small. Flowers, candles, wines, and canapes — she planned it all.
It is undoubtedly an irrational behavior yet I dreamed of it, too.
