These are the kinds of thoughts and questions that really get me excited! I also firmly believe that the question you spoke about(how might we design systems that meet people where they are?) should be applicable to everyone. Of course, we put them in the context of designing to improve accessibility but it should be something we strive for as a basic design goal for all users.

One example I can give as an avid traveler is the design of the embassy tourist visa system which is completely unstandardized between countries. That really needs to meet me where I am, because I am back at square one every time I apply for a new tourist visa to a new country!
