As the 6th semester approaches, you’re probably gearing up to find your internship for the spring. It’s never too early to get started. As you have some knowledge in your respective field you are not all ready for giving the company on what you are doing. In internship you go to develop your experience about working in company with team and to understand
how it all works. There you go for learning. While I say you are there for learning I mean you will work in group with seniors in your field and with mentors and help developing and completing the project or accomplish what you are assigned to do. In this way you will be doing both, developing your skills by learning over there and aiding the company on their work. But the employer will not randomly select you for internship because they are investing on you so they want something on you that might be helpful for their business, like

The ability to work in a team and adapt to new environment
As an intern, you’ll be working alongside dept. employees supporting their
roles. So you should be able to work in a team with being easily adapted to new environments. So during interview, show you’re a team player by sharing stories about how you helped or worked in a group.Showcase yourself as supportive.

The ability to obtain and process information.
Well the employers want smart, teachable interns. so, try showing yourself that you can contribute to the team and pickup things quickly.
