Lithuania is a Baltic country in Europe with a population of around 3 million. Due to its cold climate, it also influences people’s behavior, making them appear reserved and cautious. Lithuania is predominantly a Catholic country, with religion still playing a significant role. This means that there are individuals who practice their faith, refraining from intimate acts before marriage, resulting in a considerable number of young married couples.

Dating norms

Dating is more like a formal act in Lithuania. Often people dress up nicely, being careful of looking neat and tidy, not looking revealing or too sexy. It is widely accepted men making the first move and plan of the date and pay for the date. Most people are tend to get to know each other first couple of dates, therefore intimate acts can’t affect your partner’s feelings or decisions. Probably giving a hug, or cheek kissing or may be a handshake would be more appropriate for the initial dates.

Dating progression

Once a couple reaches their third date, they often consider themselves a committed pair. The dating process is typically straightforward; after a few dates, most couples have a good sense of whether their relationship is becoming serious. In the long run, they meet each other’s friends, families, and attend various ceremonies together. Moving in together and marriage proposals may occur within a few years.
