Having the urge to improve!
A short story about how I changed the pathway of my life!

So, there I was: 27 years old, recent bachelor’s degree in tourism management, great job in the hospitality industry but still not fully satisfied with my professional life.
Every day I woke up, went to work, got off work, went home, did housework, cooked dinner, watched Netflix and went to bed afterwards. This was my life over this last summer. Don’t understand me wrong. The first couple of weeks after graduation this felt great and I really needed some time off then.
Until one day, when I just felt bored with everything and decided that something needed to change. I don’t know if you ever felt like this before, but I wanted more in this life. I wanted something new. I felt like I needed to upgrade my skills to be satisfied.
Because of that decision, I started looking around for classes I could take. I was unsure about what I wanted to do. It should have some kind of purpose. Something I could use professionally, something that is interesting for me and that motivates me to finish it. As I was quite busy with my job, it had to be something flexible, I wanted to be able to have a great work-learn-life balance, it shouldn’t be time consuming.
Because of all those points, I looked further into online courses, especially courses for online marketing, as I had already some experience with it from work and wanted to improve my knowledge in this field, as I could imagine myself working full-time in online marketing. There were many different options from cheap to very expensive, from just a couple of hours to almost a year. I was quite insecure about which one to choose, as I didn’t want to have regrets afterwards, so I looked further into it.
Until finally I’ve decided to enrol into the digital marketing nanodegree by Udacity. It is a three month online course where I can work at my own speed. It is very down-to-earth with a lot of projects and not too expensive.
Ever since then I’m working through the lessons. I finished the first project well before the deadline. I am confident about what I do. I want to learn, to improve, to be able to do this for a living one day! This is the goal and I strongly believe the nanodegree will bring me closer to reaching it and that’s why I decided to take the program.
