Step 2. Prepare the Printer

Ensure the printer is powered on and in a ready state. Make sure the printer has an Ethernet port. Most Lexmark printers have Ethernet connectivity built-in.

Step 3. Connect the Ethernet Cable

Locate the Ethernet port on the back of the printer. Connect one end of the Ethernet cable to the Ethernet port on the printer. Connect the other end of the Ethernet cable to an available Ethernet port on your network router or switch.

Step 4. Configure Network Settings on the Printer

Access the printer’s menu or control panel. The exact method for accessing settings may vary depending on your printer model. Refer to the printer’s user manual for instructions. Navigate to the network settings or network setup menu. Select Wired or Ethernet as the connection type. Choose automatic or DHCP as the IP address setting. This allows the printer to automatically obtain an IP address from your router or DHCP server. If you prefer to assign a static IP address to the printer select manual or static and enter the IP address, subnet mask, gateway and DNS server manually. Make sure the IP address you choose is within the same subnet as your other devices on the network.

Step 5. Test the Connection

Once the network settings are configured perform a network test or print a network configuration page from the printer’s menu to verify that the printer is connected to the network. If the printer successfully obtains an IP address and connects to the network you should be able to see the printer listed in your router’s list of connected devices.

Step 6. Install Printer Drivers (if necessary)

If you haven’t already done so install the printer drivers on your computer. You can download the drivers from the Lexmark website or use the installation CD that came with the printer. During the driver installation process select network printer and follow the on-screen instructions to locate and install the printer on your network.

Step 7. Print a Test Page

Print a test page from your computer to ensure that the printer is working correctly over the network.

Note:-

If you encounter any issues during the setup process, refer to the printer’s user manual for troubleshooting tips or contact Lexmark support for assistance. Make sure your network router or switch is properly configured and functioning correctly before attempting to connect the printer. Keep your Ethernet cable lengths within recommended limits to avoid signal degradation.
