‘’Life is like a grindstone. Whether it grinds you down or polishes you up depends on what you’re made of.’’ -Anonymous
Before we started talking about what the Thumb stands for in ‘’Midas touch’’ book written by Trump and Kiyosaki.
Let’s start by giving you a small details about the book and the title.
In Greek mythology, Midas was a famous king that has an ability to turn things into gold when he touches it.
If you want to know more about the story of Midas, you can watch the video below:
The book ‘’Midas Touch’’ was written by two popular business moguls and entrepreneurs Donald Trump and Robert Kiyosaki.
In this book, both Trump and Kiyosaki narrate a stories about their experiences that makes them have a Midas Touch. Every fingers of our hand represents an important factors that every entrepreneur must master who are dreaming of success.
The Thumb: Strength of Character
The Thumb stands for Strength of Character. If you read the book, both authors have shared their experiences on how they have coped with challenges.
We all have challenges and sometimes we all makes mistakes, but these mistakes and failures should not hinder us from becoming a better person and entrepreneurs.
Instead, it should make us stronger, smarter and better.
Do not blame yourself or others when your business failed. Instead reflect of what went wrong, and move on.
Or do not be frustrated when things do not go your way.
When challenges come to your life. See it as an opportunity and take the risk because this is how we learn best.
This quote of Steve Job just sum up everything we wrote here:
‘’Remembering that you are going to die is the best way I know to avoid the trap of thinking you have something to lose. You are already naked. There is no reason not to follow your heart’’.
We always come into thinking that we might lose everything when we take the risk and this is why we always play safe in business and in life.
And we are always in our comfort zone because we are afraid to lose, to fail and to make mistakes.
But Trump and Kiyosaki tell us that if you have a strength of character and maturity you can overcome any challenges, mistakes and failures in your life.
Kiyosaki betrayed by his business partners and he was in a huge debt because of that. Trump also met a lot challenges in building his golf links in Scotland.
But all of these does not stop them to keep going and continue pursuing what they want and dream for.
So what is this strength of character really and how can we have it or develop it?
We’ll be giving you the answer in our next post.
