Don’t Tell Me What I Already Know
Wow, do I love this:
My friend is writing (has written) a book (a draft) and might self-publish it soon (it’s a Sci-Fi novel) and I’ve read the first draft. One of my pieces of feedback is how he spent a lot of time going into detail on circumstances, environments, and the scenes which left little for the imagination.
Essentially, he was doing all of the creative and mental work for the reader and leaving little to the imagination. I immediately thought of this video and shot it to him.
Sometimes it’s more important to leave information out than put it in.
