I think that some holy texts are feminist for their times. Not for this time but for their times they were. Judging history with today’s moral landscape is tricky at best and self serving at worst. Better idea is to think if this man lived today would he be someone I could have a cup of tea with? Which side would he be on in this debate? That’s how you start to carry the holy texts into the present. At least for me.
