You’re guessing and I can’t prove a negative so I’m not going to try. Ahh hell I already wrote this so what the fuck.

You could say the same about any war that founded or defended any nation in history. People died, they do that, if your lucky you die for something you believe in. I don’t pity the ones that died, I honor a person that is willing to die for what they believe in.

What I will say is that the South had a lot of money and was given a chance at signing a treaty with France if they would agree to let go of slavery. They couldn’t and retain their standard of living. They depended on slave labor to power their industry.

The North might of been able to continue without the Southern States but by the time they finally declared war they were still losing states. That was one of the reason’s they did it.
