PARENTS BEWARE! 7-YEAR-OLD BOY RACKS UP $5,000 BILL ON FATHER’S IPAD PLAYING JURASSIC WORLD

he boy’s father, 32-year-old Mohamed Shugaa of the United Kingdom, said he was shocked when he found out that his son had been using his Apple ID password and making hundreds of purchases.

“I was so mad. I’m 32 years old, why would Apple think I would be spending thousands of pounds on buying dinosaurs and upgrading a game?” he told a media outlet.

The transactions took place within a 5 day period during the second week of December.

The boy had been using a feature on the game which is referred to as “Dino Bucks” without knowing that it was charging his father’s card. Within one hour the youngster had spent $2,000.

Upon finding out about the large bill, Shugga contacted the fraud department who asked him if he had made the 60-plus transactions.

“I didn’t have a clue what they were talking about and I had to check my bank account online to understand what was going on, ” he explained. He then contacted Apple Support and requested a refund but had no idea if it would be granted.

“Why didn’t they email me to check if I knew these payments were being made? I got nothing from them. How much longer would it have gone on for?” he asked.

Eventually Apple decided in his favor and he was refunded in full.

“Our parents’ guide to iTunes details the steps adults can take to make sure younger players have access to the right content. The first thing we recommend is not to share your password,” Apple says on its website.
