Story time!!!

An idea of mine has been to have students create a mini ecosystem we can observe together in our class. I want my students to develop a love for nature and science as much as the fantasy things. I think science can be fun for everyone if taught in a way every child can understand.

I created this story as a simple conversation starter to get students thinking about what animals have to do during winter. In my neighborhood we see squirrels all the time!! When I was younger I did genuinely wonder where they went when it got cold. I left the end of the book with questions, so engage the students and draw them into a deeper level of thinking!!
