MEGA PROJECT BLOG#2

Mega Circle -1 (203)

Plastic Bottles Recycling ♻️

We as Mega Circle_1 realised the importance of Plastic Bottles Recycling for the health of the environment. This was something to be understood on a global level as Earth 🌍 is our home and we have to save it!

Using this topic as an engine we started our journey for the welfare of society. Since this was purely for the benefits of society, we decided to cover maximum zones of impact.

Thus our Journey Started.🚂 Here in the list you can find the ‘passenger' cabin’.

1- Do It Yourself:

How can we convince others to do something if we do not do ourselves? That is why we members of Mega Circle 1 decided to make Plastic Bottles artifacts ourselves.

2- Earning Funds:

To get the money for the project we enlisted a few options of which we chose Earning Funds ( earn money ourselves rather than asking from others). In this regard some fellows provided tutions, some did freelancing and some made and sold artifacts.

3- Anyone Can Do It:

To involve the society in this act of responsibility we decided to arrange public competition. For this we took permission from Facebook Art group , ‘Art-Pakistan’ and posted competition posters. Till the due date we got many responsive pics and of them we chose 3 winners and sent them their certificates and prizes.

One of the winners was so overwhelmed that she wrote a ‘ Thank you’ letter.

4- An Expert’s View and Social Media:

For the long time impact of our project, we made social media accounts (Instagram and Facebook) and posted our project works there.

Furthermore, for going ‘EXTRAMILE’ our fellow approached her Professor of Environmental Science and persuaded him to upload a video on YouTube.

By the way he has opened his channel because we inspired him. 🥰

5- Engaging New Generation:

New generations are our warriors.

To make any impact longlasting we must not forget to train them. That is why our fellow visited a school and after getting permission conducted artifacts making and planting activities with students using plastic bottles.

6- An Act of Kindness:

Working on environment and forgetting ‘ Nature Singers' 🦜🕊🐦? How is that possible? Our fellow used 25 bottles to make food containers for birds and filled with grains ( rice, wheat etc.) and hanged on different trees 🌳.

7- Public Exhibition:

To make the impact of using plastic bottles recycling message long term, I made plastic bottles ‘Anaconda’ ( 5.7 feet tall and 3.5 feet wide) using 160-170 bottles for public exhibition.

8- Dark Side:

We had been so overwhelmed by serving nature that we decided to help people living in backward areas. Our fellows visited many places and tried to pursuade them to accept our help but they did not accept it.

They even treated us very harshly.

“The fact is that many people do not even want positive changes. So, we can not help them until they want to help themselves.”

9- Future Perspective:

While going through all the perspectives during our project, we came across new problems of society which are probably more WORTHY working on.

》The people in graveyard:

People living in mud houses in graveyards are most avoided by society when trying to help people or make them feel part of us. They are also human and need our affection.

We are deciding to work on this project individually even after completion of Mega Project.🤝

》Children who do not go to school:

As a factor of working we always see the students who study in small schools with less quality education. But what about those who do not get education at all? We want to help these to feel important and then help them enroll in schools.

PROBLEMS and SOLUTION:

While working on the project we faced a lot of problems, some are here.

▪︎ Many of us did not know how to do art work but did not give up and did their best by trying again and again.

▪︎ Persuading a Professor was yet a hard work but my fellow did it with persistence and hard work.

▪︎ Going to sites was a really vulnerable work but our fellows did it. Though the results were not fruitful hence we are happy that at least we tried.

▪︎ Finding permission for permanent Public Exhibition is really soul taking but I am still trying that and I am sure that I will succeed!✌

“Hurdles are not endings, they are just made to boost our stamina.”

SUSTAINABILITY OF WORK:

Although the environmental impact is not permanent, the changes we did might not be permanent either but we tried our best to make it sustainable. Here is some evidence.

  1. The impact we created in children’ s minds will stay there for long.
  2. By permanent plastic Anaconda Exhibition, impact will be very long lasting for sure.
  3. For many days or months, birds will be having food.
  4. The impact we left on winners will always be there and they will definitely try to do such things.

TAKEAWAYS:

Though the mega project is closing soon, we will never let the plant of serving society die in ourselves.

Thank You AMAL ACADEMY❤
