We all are always looking for the destined one for us. What if tell I tell you that you don’t have to look for that special someone because you’re bound to that person with a red string.

In many cultures, there are different definitions of fate. One of them is the red string of fate also commonly known as the red string of marriage. In Chinese culture, there is a myth.

The myth of the great red string

The myth as the name pretty much defines is a tale of red string tying you with your true love. In the original Chinese myth, it is tied around both parties’ ankles, while in Japanese culture it is bound from a male’s thumb to a female’s little finger, and in Korean culture, the red thread is thought to be tied around the little finger of both parties. Although in modern times it is common across all three cultures to depict the thread being tied around the fingers, often the little finger.

Many of the locals believe that the myth is very much true. The god of marriage According to Chinese legend, the deity in charge of “the red thread” is believed to be Yuè Xià Lǎorén (月下老人).

That is why in most Chinese weddings, the color red is given great value. The color red in Chinese culture symbolizes happiness, and it is also prominently featured during Chinese weddings, such as having both bride and groom wear red throughout the entire procession or at some point during the marriage rituals.

The two people connected by the red thread are destined lovers, regardless of place, time, or circumstances. This magical cord may stretch or tangle, but never break. This myth is similar to the Western concept of a soulmate or a destined partner.

The bond of unspoken love, trust, and hope of happiness. It would be so great to know that there is someone just for you. That person will love you no matter what it may cost.

A fairytale, many of us would love to live in.

There is a different kind of feeling, knowing that you won’t always be alone. There would be warm hugs and lots of kisses.

Love lives in many forms, and one of these forms is your soulmate. The one who will do what’s best for you. Who will love you unconditionally and will desire the same from you. Sure there will be bad times, and sad times. Times when you will want to run as far away from them as you can. But that’s what makes us human.

It’s Strang that at times we don’t know the value of that someone special until we are left alone.

And when you are united, you’ll know what it means to have a moment of “spectacular now”.

There are many folklores about the red string of fate. One story featuring the red thread of fate involves a young boy in Japanese Folklore. Walking home one night, a young boy sees an old man (Yue Xia Lao) standing beneath the moonlight. The man explains to the boy that he is attached to his destined wife by a red thread. Yue Xia Lao shows the boy the young girl who is destined to be his wife. Being young and having no interest in having a wife, the young boy picks up a rock and throws it at the girl, running away. Many years later, when the boy has grown into a young man, his parents arrange a wedding for him. On the night of his wedding, his wife waits for him in their bedroom, with the traditional veil covering her face. Raising it, the man is delighted to find that his wife is one of the great beauties of his village. However, she wears an adornment on her eyebrow. He asks her why she wears it, and she responds that when she was a young girl, a boy threw a rock at her that struck her, leaving a scar on her eyebrow. She self-consciously wears the adornment to cover it up. The woman is, in fact, the same young girl connected to the man by the red thread shown to him by Yue Xia Lao back in his childhood, showing that they were connected by the red thread of fate.

There are many stories like this. In Chinese culture and I believe it’s beautiful

Feeling to know that you’re also tied to someone by a red string on your pinky finger.

I would love to meet my soulmate as soon as possible. Maybe I have already met him, hmm.

Well, keep hoping for the best is all we can do. Have you found your one true love, if you have, try your best to make wonderful memories with that person.
